Fresh Poulp Records : Various Artists - Octopus Two

"VA – Octopus One" was the first step of the Fresh Poulp odyssey. Four years later, your favorite netlabel strikes back and offers "Octopus Two" with a different focus, presenting a lot of different music genres. Like the music released this last years by the label, you can find here Dub, Hip-hop or Electronica, as well as Electro-World, Chip Music or even Breakcore. Like the first compilation, "Octopus Two" gathers two sides. The first one is made of tracks by guest artist, label's friends or some casual collaborators. You'll find on this side, among others, Cat's Eyes, a gifted flute player (Wax Tailor), Piratedub or Electro Gnawa Project (dj from Le Peuple de l'Herbe meeting gnawa musicians from Marrakesh). Octopus also introduce some relative beginners and also future members of our label, like Aquilone, Culture Zap or China White. Big Up also to Tohu Bohu and Mas-K-Gaz who is the first ones on the list, there is more than year...
"Family" side gives a non-exhaustive overview of artist that made the label this past few years. Unfortunately there is some artist missing, for obvious technical reasons. But you will enjoy listening to label veterans like pieR, Rafiralfiro, Alto Clark or Duck, alongside new soldiers of the free music cause like Tsunami Wasahari, Guitoud or Soundamantium…
Thx to all the artists involved in this compilation.
Ya'all have a great year 2009 !

MEM-006: Sylvanwood EP by Arcubalis

Arcubalis has released a 4-track atmospheric/game style EP inspired by forests on the Mephtik Netlabel.

The first track is co-written by ambient artist Blisaed, while the remaining tracks use Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Cross, Xenogears) and Mosaik's works as inspirations. Ambient, experimental, and game-like music are the focus. Hope you enjoy!

RB049 - slow - room phive

slow - room phive

After the powerful and emotive "Love"-EP on Autoplate, "room phive" is the third release by Russian composer Sergey Suokas. Sergey makes music since '99. And besides of his techno-project "Suokas", Sergey releases soulful and hypnotic ambient-music under the moniker "slow".

"room phive" is a 4-track-EP filled with friendly and deep collage-electronica composed with samples taken from nature and sounds recorded at the studio. The result are four very deep, organic and warm ambient-tracks with electronica- and shoegaze-elements, soft synth-patterns, flute- and wind-melodies and athmospheric collages.

Pack yourself in this warm, cosy sound-blanket and get some warm feet.

Cirqt 4bit MIDI-Controlled Synths

Cirqt 4bit MIDI-controlled synths come in three flavors: Square wave, Triangle wave, and Xor Noise (think NES). You build it. No soldering required. Each kit comes with all of the major components. You just need some breadboards, wire, and a power supply. You can hook up to 16 together for a massive chiptune orchestra. However, with just four of them you can get a classic NES sound from real chips. Each responds to standard MIDI Pitch Bend messages. In addition, they can respond to MIDI CC messages that control pitch sweep, volume decay, and fine pitch bend.

Here are some demos made with the synths (more on the website, including solo demos so you can hear how they sound on their own):

[pj005] Pam - Ah!

As simple as ABC. We received, listened, enjoyed, released. It would be the formula of the perfect and unexplainable "coup de coeur". And what would be the best thing to start a new year with such a soothing piece of simplicity? Pam definily came up with a concept: Simple melodies, cute'n'weird ambiances, no percussions. Seriously, would you need more? Its like the right soundtrack to make a final point about the year 2008. Tiny synth sounds, played with simplicity honesty and even naivety, minimalism at his best. The soundtrack of changes, introspection and even more than that all: the ballads of your past days! Shhhh, listen. Petite&Jolie wishes you a happy new year.

A little bit dark, a little bit finnish, fullonish, progish... influenced by everything that has been going on and very dancefloor oriented - Tsabeat and his co-conspirators blip and blop thier way round and round your head for an upbeat and bouncy trance experiance.

Elad Weinberg, the man behind Tsabeat and Sattel Battle projects started them both in 2002 in Tel Aviv after playing for 5 years guitar and drums in several Punk and Metal bands (the black flies , chaos rabak). Around this time he started getting into sound engineering and discover the digital world. Since then creating non-stop psychedelic dance music. after 5 years production , countless parties dj'ing , Elad (Tsabi) started realese with labels like : gi'iwa , parvati , doof , zaikadelic , vertigo , geomagnetic , and more... colibrating with other artists like Neuron compost, Highko , G.o.w , Ankur, Optical human ,Texas faggott, Haltya , Guinea pigs and more .
