[sijis] Ubeboet, Calarco & Reche - Biesi

This 20 minute piece is the result of a collaboration between Miguel Angel Tolosa (ubeboet), Juan José Calarco and Pablo Reche. 'Biesi' is Russian for 'demons' and sets the scene for an eerie journey through a soundscape packed with spectres and apparitions. The composition creates the feeling of unseen presences, evokes fog on still waters and whispers at the listener the half words of sleepwalkers. Biesi contains haunted environmental recordings, beguiling undercurrents and otherworldly, narco-acoustic murmurs. By moving away from the obvious Western, Christian interpretation of the idea of demons, Tolosa, Calarco and Reche avoid any simplistic moral posturing between good and evil and pursue older, richer mythologies. One could draw parallels with Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Hideo Nakata and their explorations of so called 'ambient horror'. In Biesi ghosts, demons and the uncanny are very much part of life itself and the borders between the afterlife and the one which we inhabit are easily crossed, and forever blurred.

[RAR022] Jemset - Above The Top EP

As the weather heats up here in the US, so does Random Access. Only a week later; Jemset drops his second release on RaR, giving us more jackin raw tech-house to keep our heads banging and our feets moving. This EP is more minimalistic than the last. However, This EP still has that raw Detroit tech-funk feeling to it. Another great release by this great up and coming artists. We expect many more in to come. We have a feeling this is just the beginning. Go to the netlabel page to download. Enjoy!!!

Fresh Poulp : Silent Bells - Mozaïc

Just seven months after releasing his first discographic trial "The Great Noise", Silent Bells strikes back with his first LP in a mood/style of his own. As the title of the album suggests, Mozaïc is a real patchwork, an motley ensemble filled with influences and colors that are mixed together, even crushed, without never reaching the perfect harmony. Electronic music leads this union, creating a cross-over between rock, dub and world-ambient. This new Silent Bells release presents a synthese between instrumental, analogic, acoustic and electronic musics, trying to bring to each one more than just an exotic touch. "Mozaïc" features a real downtempo collaboration with spanish dj/producter [wi-ni]2.0 on "La Herencia"

Kahvi #249: Craque / Material

Guest artist craque arrives on Kahvi.org with a unique blend of textures and IDM elements. Six track 'Material' verges on the style of 'MigloJE'. Torus Europa sets the scene with its lush, drawn out passages of sound and textures and leads into the interesting 'strawberry jam', an atonal melody drawing on a paced bass line which makes a nice combination and the extraordinary 'organum' (my personal favourite of this release) with 'that' sample hook that fits so well with the rest of the track. a great first release from craque, perhaps we`ll see more from him in the future?

[RB034] calarco/juarez - tierra abierta

Two great artists from Argentinia teamed up for a massive 14-minute sound piece: Juan Jose Calarco and Adrian Juarez. Both artists are wellknown from many releases on multiple Net- and CDr-labels all around the globe.

"Tierra Abierta" is a subtle composition. The essential groundwork on this release, holding everything together, are fieldrecordings. You can hear many natural sound like rain, creaky woods, whistling winds and rustling leaves. This earth-bound ambience is arranged artfully with generated sounds which are layered and woven together with the fieldrecording-material. The calm before the storm.

Just until the thunderstrom discharges...

CD-R and Quest.Room.Project — “Digital Snow”

CD-R and Quest.Room.Project — “Digital Snow” Sounds like electroacoustic, glitch, post-noise...

Nikita Golyshev, known as CD-R, and Bogdan Dullsky (Quest.Room.Project) met virtually and have recorded an album. First, they share music file sources in the net, and then processed with real-time sound recordings through peer-to-peer connection.

The result is a collage of acoustic and digital pieces, gathered in one snowfall.
