Newest Release from hamburg based netlabel "welove: minimal" is produced by slovakian artist "Funkatron". Well known for his productions on netlabels like "bumpfoot", "Symbiosis", "Wazzotic", and labels like "3 Liquid Hz Records", Montec Records ect. he now enlarges his horizon with this 3 track release. He also is member of the project "Funky shit Mafia" together with DJ Nisiru and Jules. For his first release on "welove: minimal" he merges a bit of psy, some funk and groovey rythms together to driving minimal tunes. "Funky Magic", my personal favorite on this EP, comes along with a lovely catchy piano melody which will escort all of you the whole summer.
Dedxoud's latest work revolves between the throbbing low frequencies of a quiet state of being and the anxious feeling of irregular changes.
The two pieces that embodie this ambient, thrive in the minimal approach and in the space that an absence of narrative provides.
The echoe is the instrument that outlines Abstraak in the same way a rock outlines ripples in a lake. And you are the lake.

«Two years ago, on August 29/30, hurricane Katrina hit hard on the greater New Orleans area, causing death and destruction as she passed and dissipated a few days after. Considered by weather analysts as the 3rd greatest hurricane in American history, Katrina was also considered by many as the probable result of men's relentless and irrational harm on our planet. Not that hurricanes never happened before, but they are growing stronger and more destructive in recent years, as temperatures rise and ice melts in the northern hemisphere. This is not new.
A sad story like this one could be told by 'Climate', an electroacoustic work authored by New York resident and sound designer Billy Gomberg. On 'Climate', Billy manipulates feedback sinewaves and folds them around sparse notes generated by his electronic apparatus. Sometimes they are dark, obscure and sad non-musical pieces, and sometimes they sound ethereal, musical, almost lyrical pieces on the verge of emotional collapse, like the 'lower ninth ward' was, as portrayed on the cover artwork, after the passing of Katrina. 'Climate' is all this and more for you to delve in and discover. Billy has released before on Standard Klik Music, 12/term. and other places. He will return shortly after this release with a collaborative work 'country at the river of friendship’ with Anne Guthrie. Keep your ears peeled.» - Pedro Leitão
Baron Knoxburry, dimensional time traveler located in michigan, usa, bears the blame for this mega blast experimental supercore-chiptune release. with releases on labels like mode of proof, reject records and battle of the bits, he has made himself already a name in the underground music scene, here now comes this titanic album - with more than 80 tracks, it runs over an hour. but only 10mb, so download NOW!!
Takeshi Nakamura, who's been making quite the name for himself on various netlabels (Zymogen, Digital Biotope, Play-Code, ...), can certainly be relied upon should you be looking for avant-garde sonic investigations.
"Strange Animals" is made of curious harmonics that were meticulously assembled through what i would guess are alien Max/msp or Reaktor patches.
The tracks' structures are at first hard to identify as most of the rhythms are quite unorthodox, until (in some cases) a more familiar rhythm manages to put ongoing sounds in a new perspective.
Other tracks show an equally glitchy approach to sounddesign and do not fail to present the listener with the most peculiar soundenvironments.
If anything this release is not easy-listening, but the execution of it all is interesting, original and entertaining. I for one will continue to watch mister Nakamura as he steadily continues his path towards glitchmastery.

Xynthetic Netlabel’s latest compilation 'Progress Report' is now available on our free netlabel series. It features 8 tracks from artists from Canada, the US, Greece, and Spain covering a variety of styles from Electro to DnB. All of the artists/projects on the compilation are new to the Xynthetic family. In keeping to our model with our catalogs to discourage strict classifications, the artists assembled here all offer their own styles and interpretations of electronic music. From the opening Moroder meets New Order vibe of m u t o’s Sky Kanyon to the closing wall of reverb in Violesk’s Endless Rain the styles move through Odori’s organic Koto breaks, Asymptote’s take on Dub, Datascraper’s artificial intelligence, Subduxtion’s dark DnB, Liliny’s “delerious” ambience, and Fabric’s melodic IDM. We’re honored to have these artists participate in our latest compilation and bring the quality. Please join us in welcoming these artists to our family, and we hope their music finds a good home on your iPods and in your mixes. We're also excited to feature Spencer Lytle's latest project Datascraper. Spencer is best known for his Portland/PDX project on n5MD that was also featured on Statement of Purpose. Thanks, Josh and Graeme Xynthetic Netlabel / Xynthetic Music
