Landed with new bones – here comes everything together what Popshop aka Martin Akeret developed in the last ten years with an own trademark. And it is mixed like an irresistible cocktail: Reduced and dark techno tracks with a mythic depth are combined with warm and playful electrohouse hymns, personal and metaphoric vocal fragments and completely exposed popsongs like «Shining star». Statements in titles like «Still on my way», «Changing weather» or «Relief (after the lost years)» are leaving a mark of an optimistic and nevertheless thoughtful feeling. «This person is already your friend» goes one step further and mixes experience in web portals like myspace with a loose self-irony and a certain gravity.

"Sotavento is an artistic sound abstraction of the passionate and endless relationship between millions of trees and one single, inexorable wind, a wind that we all share. We establish an Internet-based, real-time movement communication between moving trees located in different countries. The trees' "dance" is tracked down by two dual-axis accelerometers, each fixed to the tip of a branch. We use the complex branch movements to generate or to trigger sounds. In this installation a tree is a self-replicant sound maker of its own dance. The audience can perceive the relation between the “dance” of the tree and the music it produces. Even is there is no wind, the tree in Mexico can “ask” (via Internet) for movements to a tree in Italy and generate its sounds with this information. The sounds are to be listened thanks to a set of four speakers installed around the tree." Sotavento comprehends a global landscape, an hyper-garden, a space in short-circuit. It is an ecology of resources that establish new interdependencies.
Rombix is a project of Roman Voronovskiy, quite perspective musician from Moscow, Russia, that certainly will not be lost in the eclectic international experimental scene. Roman makes his music pure analog way, using hand-made cassette loops, vinyl and tape recorders.
Minimalism, soft glitch, elements of jazz, ambient and even abstract hip-hop are the basic components of Rombix. Add here amusing samples of russian speech and common romantic mood, that makes such a pleasant singularity with self-esteem.
