Flutterspot - Suitable For A Desire To Share [mtk181]

We're delighted to present a second release from Finnish graphic artist and musician Flutterspot, following the 'Labmat EP' back in early 2006, and this time round, 'Suitable For A Desire To Share' is almost 40 minutes of lushly layered electronic music to die for - or at least freeze a little bit. We start off with the oddly titled 'Small, Brightly Coloured, Highly Arboreal', which hops up into the trees for some almost Boards Of Canada-esque loping beats and marvellously complex electronic beats. From there on, there's just all kinds of mature fun to be had, with 'Cumulonimbus Arcus' looping all over the place in delight.

tatsu - wisteria field [bump030]

tatsu returns to the bump side. This contains the tracks from December 2006 to February 2007.
The first two tracks joined the label compilation : "ennui" is included in tropic's "one / volume 1", and "northwood" is in "la vie future" from stratagem. After "el tren" closes the minimal side of this release, "living room" opens the warmer side. Continuing with bumping tech-house "twilight", warm chill tune "siesta" closes this album. The bonus track "citrus" is another version of "station", included in "space travel EP".

[tube068] Bottegasonora - No Ordinary Day

«'Bottegasonora' - an italian word meaning something like 'Sonorous handicraft store' - is the musical self of Luca Ricatti, a Rome living musician who usually writes music for theatre plays and documentaries, but this time wanted to get away from his stressful day-to-day by writing a mini-concept album about what could be one out-of-the-ordinary day.
It starts with 'Late awake' and an alarm going off, ordering Luca to get off the bed. The day starts frantic with polyrhythmic beats and drum'n'bass style drums, but some soft guitars too, Luca likes them a lot. After that, Luca has to 'Drive to go to work', so he doesn't get there late as usual. This time we get some manic keyboards and basslines, as Luca tries to avoid the lunacy that is car traffic in Rome (and all of Italy, for that matter...). Maybe Luca's car starts floating near the end, because the track gets quite ethereal, a minute before he decides 'Leavin' the car, takin' a bicycle'. A cool decision, right? We must think global these days, and treat mother earth nice. Again, we are graced with Luca's guitars and he tried to mimic the feeling of bicycle riding, by panning the sound from left to right, and left again. Luca says he got this idea from 'In the Court of the Crimson King', back when he was a teenager listening to prog-rock. Yeah, yeah. Luca now has arrived to his work (we assume) and after another full day, he returns home, and there is already 'Night under the stars', a soothing melody made of guitar plucks and keyboard lines. But before wishing Luca good night and sweet dreams, there's still time to listen to 'Herbario nuovo', because Luca loves old technical illustration books, like the ones test tube takes some drawings from. Don't forget to watch the video too. Sleep well, Luca.» - Pedro Leitão

Ten and Tracer - Baker's Blood [zym012]

"Baker's Blood" is the latest offering by Ten and Tracer, a renowned name in the American electronic music scene. Following a long period of silence, he produced one of the most exciting EPs of 2005, entitled "In Such a Fix to be so Fertile", the first release published by the excellent Rope Swing Cities netlabel. This release surprised most people who had been familiar with Jonathan's previous work, as something unusual had occurred during its conception. Namely, processed beats and organic sounds had been moulded together to form a dark and deep aural experience; a significant shift from his previous warm and melodic compositions. In the 2006, the people at Rope Swing Cities were fortunate enough to be able to release another of Jonathan's fine productions, entitled "Vinculum"; this time inspired by different feelings, but composed with the same previously inspired elements. Now it's time for "Baker's Blood" and we feel very glad to have in our 'virtual hands' a four track representation of Jonathan's current sound and evolution since "In Such a Fix to be so Fertile". Lets just say that any attempt at describing it would not do it justice, as you will find radically different sounds blended together in an impressive manner: tribal percussion, glitch aesthetics, field recording, found sounds. These are musical concepts that are very far one from one another, but in these tracks there are eloquent links to make them work and communicate. The real beauty lies in fine details, and you should listen to each track carefully in order to explore every pattern, sample, beat, gradient, and melody, as something really special happens there. It is creative expression its best!

New releases

Two new releases are available now on Valiza Tools, the French electronic music netlabel. First is Watt Freak who gives us a quiet wide sight of music between IDM and electro with his first release. Very impressive. http://www.valiza-tools.com/fr/tools/vt22. Faithful to himself, Kirioucha, alo being one of our resident DJ under the nickname Cyrille l'architecte, proposes his innovative and tremendous electro, proper to his own universe. A complete four tracks release keeping some weird and electro-pop accents that drives us crazy. http://www.valiza-tools.com/fr/tools/vt23. To listen and listen again. Enjoy! [img009] SIGHUP - Edison Moon

Intelligent Machinery Productions presents:
SIGHUP - Edison Moon

An act of sonic archaeology and SIGHUP's most ambitious work to date, Edison Moon carries on the tradition of sampling as alchemy and builds on the techniques developed on SIGHUP's previous works. Edison Moon is based entirely on raw digital transfers of wax cylinder recordings originally recorded for Edison Records in the early Twentieth Century. SIGHUP has transformed the decayed remains of the once state-of-the-art into a work of mysticism and pathos--celebrating, contributing to and lamenting our search for hidden knowledge.
