(MA029) Stig Inge - No Presents Ep

No presents. No fame. No glamour. You don't get many things for free, and if you do those things are often enough of minor quality, meaning there is no other way than looking out for yourself and work hard for everything you want. The same applies for this EP: These tracks didn't come for free, they are the result of staying up all night and working hard. These tracks reflect Inge's world, a world filled with Norwegian melancholy, love for electronic music and the will to work hard for a genuine product. And that's what these tracks are. Honest and real.

(MA028) Delayscape - Formator Ep

Four melodic electro tracks from Denmark's Delayscape. The 'Formator Ep' keeps it short-but-sweet. 'Re-formator' kicks off proceedings with crisp 808's and analogue arpeggios aplenty. 'HGW' features Delayscape's trademark soaring melodies, simple percussion, dusty pads and assorted weird synth noises on a bed of menacing analogue bass - call it epic electro. Next up is 'Dimension Delay', which mixes dubby delay effects with firm drum programming. And finally, Delayscape closes with '39R2' which sort of mixes all of the above: acidic bleeps, tight 808 patterns, lots of intertwining melodies and a general feeling of melancholy. Music for dancing at home.

[tube067] the astroboy - A Derrota da Engrenagem

You are in the middle of a moor surrounded by rustling leaves, misplaced smells and the wind howling around you. Youre peaceful but intrigued. Youre incomplete. Youre human and still you feel like this music, created mainly by machinery, is wiring you to earth.
Lus Fernandes is the musician responsible for these dreamy and subtle moods. Presenting his project as 'the astroboy', using synths, guitars, tr606 (a drum machine by Roland mainly used in the early acid house music scene) and sampling, he has been able to develop and present textures of sound that become appealing as you keep listening to them.
Exploring melody and drone, and obtaining balance between an atmospheric line of sounds, A Derrota da Engrenagem consists of a symbiosis between synths, guitar and samples. You should try it. - Nuno Silva

On his debut album 'the astroboy' suggests a codified description, a personal struggle, a relentless conflict that seeks an end, as is clear from the names of his songs. The result is nothing but a sensitive and serious record that will keep you from moving away from your music player.
In "A Derrota da Engrenagem", the songs presented by Lus Fernandes seem to be somewhere between post-rock, (occasionally) experimental, and some sort of atmospheric cruise. You'll picture one of his captain's logs, a report that will not appear abruptly, that will not produce harsh sounds for distracted listeners.
It might be a little hard though for those with spiritual breathing difficulties to survive this cruise, but if you choose to go on a trip with the astroboy you will be able to gaze at the stars through the amazing glass of his spaceship... - Filipe Miranda

[RAR009] Strial- "Workaholic EP"

Back again is netlabel veteran and head of Edensonic Records; Strial to bring you his first EP on RaR and the hardest techno release yet on this label. This release entitled "Workaholic" is filled with hard percussive arrangements, filled with psyched out Detroit style synth stabs, drowned over mysterious back drop, and sometimes acid type style melodies and pads. As with all his other releases, Strial gives us style, character, and soul by the pound! This EP couldn't have had a better name, because this is exacly what Strial is, "a workaholic." While being a successful scientist in the field of medicine, Strial has managed many artists on his own label Edensonic, which has become an icon in the netlabel scene for the genre of techno. Strial has also helped RaR behind the scenes too, providing priceless advice and direction. He has helped me (Marcus Watkins) not only grow as an director to this label, but has also opened my mind a dj, a producer, a person, and most importantly as a friend. It can truely be said that Random Access Recordings would not be here if it were not for Strial. Strial is one of the most versitle artists in the netlabel scene and this release is a very special one starting a long series of hard techno bangers from this true master at " WORK." ENJOY!!!
