objet trouvé (= found art) is a compilation which was created in two
phases. the first phase was the process of finding the building blocks
to create tracks later. so a group of tonAtom artists collected and
contributed samples of various kinds.
this set of samples was then compiled and passed on to the artists in
order to begin the second phase: the creation of new music from these
building blocks.
finally, the culmination of this process is this release of six very
diverse tracks.
all samples used for this release are available for download as well.
the samples are available using a (non-commercial) creative commons
license (thanks to all the artists!) so if you want to contribute your
own track to an objet trouvé 2.0 compilation, please get in touch with
info@tonAtom.net (please remember: cc-licensed, no collecting
societies. tonAtom is about free, legal music.)
Trait's Airborne EP is dedicated to his late father who passed away in 2003, though only one track is directly concerned with that event, depicting his death experience as a "free-fall into ecstasy", who's appropriateness is taken from the fact that he served in the 101st airborne division as a paratrooper.
Other songs range from attempts at elucidating a co-existing myth-world, a successful attempt at putting oneself in the right place for love to arise, quietly shaking a fist at the absurdity of taking introductory music classes while writing this, and lamenting the falling apart of a friendship upon discovering years of lies.
This is TraiT's second release. You can find his first release, Bluelove V1.1 EP on his Jamendo site or his official website, http://www.01014.org, where he releases a song a week for free.
In Mid-2009, mystified asked some of his peers if they would try remixing his sounds. He was especially happy with 9 of these remixes, and wanted to release them together to give people a chance to listen.
These 9 remixes vary in style but all are high in quality and all do exciting things with the sounds of mystified.
I am very pleased to announce the latest net release title from ping things is "a decade dreaming" by dreamSTATE. Released to coincide with the tenth anniversary of THE AMBiENT PiNG, "a decade dreaming" features a selection of live performances by dreamSTATE spanning ten years of concerts at THE AMBiENT PiNG, celebrating both the music and the PiNG community of the last decade.
With guest performances by Eric Hopper of Sylken, Alan Bloor of Pholde/Knurl, Jim Field of Spacenoiz, James Johnson, Wally Jericho, and Cheryl O, "a decade of dreaming" is a beautiful collection of music that captures the essence of dreamSTATE and the PiNG itself. From the smooth pads of "Soundscape for Richard Wright", through the delicate melodies of "Jharna Revealed", to "Premillennial Landscape #1" and its celestial tones, "a decade dreaming" is a fabulous release that I am delighted to be able to share with you.
"a decade dreaming" is available for free download as a 110 Mb Zip file containing the full release in high quality 256kbps mp3 format along with artwork suitable for printing. The music on this release is copyright Scott M2 and Jamie Todd 1999-2009 and may not be used or reproduced without the artist's express permission. The Cherry Blus Project, a two-people-project from argentina, was one of the first artists on Resting Bell. They are mainly known for more experimental music, field recordings, noise and improvisation. For their "new" release on Resting Bell they did something you wouldn't expect.
They recorded a folk record. "The Psychiatric Years EP" is rescued material from TCBP, about 4-5 years old, compiled into two EPs. All the material is folk music. Songs with melodies and structures, mostly done with guitar and voice. The production sounds really noisy in some places. Hisses, background-noises, rough sketches of songs and ideas. A great meeting between traditional song-structures and a growning experimental background.
Keep your eyes open and watch out for part 2 of this recording.
Bleep&Dirty brings us their first release, an upbeat and well produced 2 track EP called Beat Machine, the tracks have a really nice synth flow and don't stand still for long, this i believe is something special, enjoy!
