mephuser is an experimental electronic project based in berlin/germany. its sample-based music (layered composition) is influenced by low-hi electronics, sounds/textures, field recordings and psychedelics. to describe this album, which took two years to create, seems to be impossible at all. mephuser takes us on a tour through his world and beyond. he shows us the diversity of his stylistic ideas by letting them slip into this kaleidoscope of tracks. you won't stay in one place for too long as mephuser is always already round the next corner with something new for you. but this album is neither just a conglomeration nor the mere, cold proof of musical excellence: it is a composition like a day, a year or a life in 50 minutes. 320k-mp3 / flac
FeedbackLoop label is a new "netlabel". Subterminal - Bitstreams is the first release.
Available music in the web is a marvelous world to uncover, and ever since I came across the concept of Netlabels I was immediately stunned by the amount of music to discover. But shortly after I was overwhelmed by the fast paced releases and hard to find pearls (at least the ones that lasted more than 2 or 3 careful auditions). There are netlabels and record labels for all genres and you can find out there everything, but my intentions regarding the foundation of a label are based on two critical issues: listeners pleasure and tribute to the artist.
I want to release music that lasts one year, ten years, a lifetime, and that gives its listeners always a good reason to get back to it and also to promote as much as possible the artists that produce that music. I’m interested in the sensations that music transmits, its richness and its versatility.
bitstreams is a concept album in which subterminal explores electronic music and poetry. this album was produced by tiago morgado. the ep filled with light, released by xs records [pt netlabel] contains 3 tracks from this album.
besides the ep released at xs records [pt netlabel] an advance free download single is released: for the last time. in the following 3 months period donations will be accepted. after that period bitstreams will be released if donations cover the minimum costs and a cd will be produced. meanwhile you can preview the full album.
Six new tracks (18 minutes) of new music from Cagey House. The music ranges from the serene ("Viv Luminous") to the frenetic ("Why the Long Map?") with lots of bizarre twists in between. The mostly acoustic samples (heavy on kora, guitar, and woodwinds) are laced with vocal parts edited out of lectures, speeches, and intimate conversation. Overall, a nice little dada folly.
Massimo Discepoli (aka Nheap) is a musician from Perugia (Italy). He started playing drums in 1990, and in 2007 he started composing and performing his own music. "Skymotion" is Nheap's second full length release. Released in September 2009, “Skymotion” features 10 tracks, ranging from jazz to electronic, ambient to avantgarde; the drums were played live.
Ennio Mazzon is an Italian sound artist. I first heard of him as a remixer of Off Land's "Input Shape". But he did netaudio-releases on Audiotalaia and Timetheory and a CDr-release on his own imprint "Ripples Recordings", as well as various sampler-contributions.
"The Possibility Of Joy" contains 4 tracks with a complete duration of about 22 minutes. Most of the material seems to be generated with synthesizers and electronical equipment with a little addition of field recordings in some parts. The sound is based between athmospherical, clean sounds and noisy, distorted parts, opening up a wide range of listening-impressions. Creating noise on one hand but also beatiful emerging melodies within these loud and massive soundwalls.
To speak with Ennio's words: "I want to transform the natural silence." So close your eyes and drift through all the different layers of granulations, distortions and glitches.
Released on Sun 6th September at http://www.thecentrifuge.co.uk, free download.
