In the year 27XX, life as we know it IS MUCH MUCH MORE DIFFERENT than as we know it today (Honest! Unlike Hollywood movies! Space Odyssey anyone? I'm still waiting for an A.I. with true intellectual power! Liars!). Unfortunately, greed and arrogance are still all around us. After the year 2012, those who found the true meaning of life within themselves left earth.... those who didn't (which is most of us), ended up staying on this hell hole of a rock we call our home planet. Being left with the worst of human kind, Earth began to struggle to keep up with demand of the human species. Thus, the overpopulation and pollution of Earth had lead to an increase in demand for emigration to other planets. Jay McCray the son of a scientist responsible for...

Hot Molasses - Molassachusetts EP
No-Source Netlabel - [NS006]
About Hot Molasses:
Hot Molasses is Greater Somerville’s most beloved purveyor of power pop. Named after the Molasses Flood that swept through Boston’s Commercial Street in 1919, Hot Molasses is once again rising to engulf you in its dark tide. The band consists of guitarist/vocalist Ben Abrams, bassist/vocalist Andrew Cohen, vocalist/tambourinist Julia Dickinson, drummer Pete Kriensky, and guitarist Doug Sisko. The quintet delivers tunes that pop like the Go-Betweens, wink like the Kinks, and fall down drunk like the Replacements. Committed to supporting local music and local progressive action since 2007, Hot Molasses has hosted benefit concerts that raised over $5000 for Boston-based social change organizations. Hot Molasses’ raucous live show and memorable sense of humor will shake your shoes, sweeten your batter, and have you begging for more.
About the Molassachusetts EP:
Hot Molasses’ debut EP delivers driving, intricate melodies layered with guitars, keyboards, and, at times, mandolins and banjos. The Molassachusetts EP’s five songs range from punky power pop to lilting country and tackle diverse subjects such as local sports heroes, relationship mishaps, and addiction. Hot Molasses channels Wilco, Guided By Voices, and the New Pornographers in a topsy-turvy amalgam of soft strums, blistering distortion, and stray bleeps.

Apeiron marks the formal debut of Proton Kinoun (Kasper Weensgaard), a Danish ambient producer, on Ektoplazm's new ambient and downtempo sublabel, Omnitropic. This album is a mixture of deep drifting soundscapes, beatless ambient atmospheres, thick airy pads, and throbbing, liquid electronic percussion. Inspired by the breathtaking images of our universe captured by the sharp eyes of the Hubble Space Telescope, Apeiron is a meditative exploration of the quickening of life on cosmic scales of space and time. The use of headphones and complete darkness is recommended for a completely immersive listening experience! Mastered by Akhentek with artwork by Alexander Synaptic.
