To celebrate this new year and Fresh Poulp’s 5 years of musical delight, here comes the third version of our “Octopus” compilations : “O3“. As usual we’ve released a double LP, but this time only featuring guest artists, drawing a sketch of what Fresh Poulp will be in a close future! New orientations begin to appear, like minimalist musical objects or deep ambient sounds, even if the label keeps and will keep its well known eclectic trademark !
Let’s have a quick overview of some of the many guest featured here ! Padawin is an electronic duet and label friend that will release its first album on FPR later this year, as well as Bankari, that may present an EP. You all know the international orientation of our label, however this album focuses mainly on french artists, some of them are confirmed, like rap-band Da Krew or dub warriors from OnDubGround, who also provided their science of mixing for the compilation.
But you’ll also find some electronic rising artists like Life in A Box (who just released his first LP on Concrete Curving), D-Drône, Kat Gogolevitch or Para, guilty of a wonderful album last year on AQuietBump !
It would take too long to talk about all these artists, even if they deserve it, but there’s some great human connections we’d like to share! Like meeting Komak and his truck in the french moutain, sharing some strange dutch liquor. Or Elkhor, met in a field a few years ago in french coutryside ! Again a testimony that Fresh Poulp is made of human link !

New Ep by Juan Antonio Nieto aka Pangea @ Impulsive Habitat netlabel.
Indoor originates from recordings done by the artist in his own house in Madrid where he performed percussive exercises with objects such as glasses, wood, paper, lamps, furniture and pretty much whatever he got his hands on; those objects were hit, rubbed, blowed, teared, scratched, stretched and through all kind of percussive processes. Those exercises are clearly influenced by Juan Antonio's background as a drummer/percussionist.
Juan Antonio recorded a total of five sessions and selected two and overlap them in layers giving them a brand new emotional sense. Finally he created a background based on field recordings of pouring rain over glass that he later manipulated creating an inmutable wall of sound.
We feel quite enthusiast and privileged to publish this release in a point where Juan Antonio's career is taking such an interesting turn.

Impulsive Habitat is a division of Test Tube.

Experimental lo-fi synth pop. Apsis Lappet is the solo project of Texas native Nate Kitchens. His music is as catchy as it is non-conventional. Listening to Apsis Lappet's debut, Suite Happy Sweet, I'm hit with waves of nostalgia. These songs are the songs created inside of my daydreams as a child. Kitchens manages to recall every note as he writes the aged lyrics and crafts this EP. Spidermunkey recalls a synth punk inner city attitude while Happier Day and Mellow remind me of early Magnetic Fields. The entire EP is mixed continuously without brake, evoking a stream of consciousness or a dream-like state of mind.
Noerror is a project born in early 2000. Its first purpose was to relate some of the most famous demoscene music releases, it extended to all the active demoscene netlabels and finally all the netlabels, no disctinction. Just talent and beautiful music is now the word.
