Its been a little quiet on the Xerxes front lately. If you've been keeping an eye on his website recently, you will have found a huge amount of works available including an entirely unreleased selection.
The Xerxes Christmas box draws on three of the most recent releases - Selected Works volume 1 and 2 and Unreleased 2009. And being one of the most productive musicians on the scene, theres also a Selected works volume 3, having just appeared from the wings.
Xerxes hosts his music at Bandcamp, which encourages you to donate any amount to enable the downloading facility - if you enjoy this (relatively small) selection, why not visit xerxes-music.com and donate some cash to a worthwhile artist to get the rest of the tracks from these albums?
Anyway, as for this 'Christmas selection box', there are 16 tracks in total, which makes for 77 minutes of continuous music. And the tracks are fabulous, festive and highly enjoyable.
Moody, dramatic tracks such as lo fi beauty, to fast and fun cleopatra and jackpot. Enjoy this epic sound and keep an eye out for the final in this weeks Christmas releases tomorrow!

Continuing the Christmas releases is one of the most requested artists - Url (or previously known as Kolibries).
Url put together this special selection of unreleased works especially at my request, taken from his back catalogue of never before heard rarities.
Diverse throughout, theres a few surprises in amongst the usual high quality production and addictive and memorable melodies.
Track of choice is definately the truly epic 'the swap instrument' - amazing!
Christmas releases continue tomorrow.

We hope everyone of you will have a nice christmas with this lovely album, see you next year.

It wouldn't be Christmas without the annual Christmas release from Coax, and here it is.
Not to disappoint his legions of fans (the previous Christmas release from Coax got over 9000 downloads) this time around Coax has created a masterpiece in the form of a 12 track album diversifying into orchestral and ambient with some dark and moody textures thrown in for good measure.
Tracks of choice: from the electronic side of things, kobolt is a great piece of oddness yet coolness and on the orchestral side of things quiet minds is an awe inspiring piece of work.
Enjoy this continuation of Kahvi Christmas 2009 - more follows tomorrow!
"Entering The Ocean" is the first studio album of Ishizuke Children. Long majestic compositions remind the Buddhist temple ceremonies. It's deeper than the deepest ocean. Themes of tracks are ecology, nonviolence, intercorrection of all life in the universe, instant karma, search for the mysterious in everyday.
Children Of Ishizuke Tree - the guitar duo from Minsk, Belarus, consists of Alexander Haletski and Marina Bartosh. Formed in 2009. Style of music – something between noise, drone, shoegaze and academic minimalism. Band practices playing in a few amps and distortions of sound.

Kicking off Christmas release week for 2009 is Kahvi regular - Alkor. "Still before the sunrise" is a dreamy escapade into a surreal sunrise approaching on the horizon. Six tracks of excellence in the usual Alkor vein, with swirling pads, solid basslines and all the addictive ingredients we're used to.
With just over 30 minutes playing time, this gentle introduction to a week of classic and strong releases will ease you into the rhythm.
Track of choice is track 6 - one day above the clouds. The kind of track to send a chill down your spine every time you give it a listen, yet oddly familiar in a way?
New Pangea release from Experimedia. Most of the sounds that form Divisions of Space are part of the conversation that different percussive timbres (metal, plastic, wood) keep each other moving in constant motion the entire theme. The extreme manipulation of these elements transform the clean percussion in something diferent using chambers slowed in dark, unsettling drones and dramatic subwoofer effects. The Division of Space slight underground melodies endow a strange aerial feeling. At the end of the track, the human voice brings us back to earth. BIO: Pangea is the project of avant-garde music of the spanish musician Juan Antonio Nieto. Pangea experiment with harsh sounds, with them he create rich textures in shades wrapped in hypnotic atmospheres. "The main idea in my music is about the power of evocative sounds outside the usual elements in most of the musical compositions such as the pace or melody, different timbres are to sustain themselves and will be the relationship between them that the dowry of excitement to work looking at the listener a complicity with the sounds that make up the membership, these sounds harsh, even irritating in themselves, acquire a totally different dimension in combination with each other.
