We first released Michigan-based foreboding idm superstar Dead Eros on Monotonik back in 2005, and are delighted to welcome him back with this 4-track release, 'Cycle EP', all slightly spooky, overlapping electronics in a distinctly regional, but distinctly original way.
Asher once again blesses Homophoni with a simple and elegant electro-acoustic work, effortlessly executed and selflessly released into the public domain. 'In Camera' is very much an Asher piece, clearly inline with his established aesthetic, but showing new growth and exploration. Asher's medium this time is a grab bag of short audio snippets, lovingly glued together like photographs in a scrapbook, and held to the paper with a glowing digital adhesive. A collage of familiar sounds, subtle surprises, and sudden changes, 'In Camera' still manages to maintain fluidity, and comfortably congeals into a cohesive whole.
A new forum dedicated to FM synthesis discussions of all kinds just opened and is maintained by Zinger and Janoch. The main focus is on FM software, FM hardware and FM music as that of older Yamaha sound chips such as the OPx family chips series found on Adlib soundcards and older games consoles and home computers such as the MegaDrive or X68000 to name a few. However discussion around newer FM Synthesis such as studio ware or cellphone FM synthesis or non-FM but rather similar kinds of synthesis is also welcome. The forum is in english but welcomes also those who do not speak it so well!
Zymogen celebrates its second anniversary with a release from Kyoto, Japan, composed by Marihiko Hara, one of the most interesting young Japanese producer and member of the experimental-pop collective Rimacona-Lab. Cesura, Hara's debut album, reflects an inclination to melody compressed into subtle layers and thin sound lines. He elaborates piano, his trademark, and other acoustic instruments into digital samples making them floating during the entire album, falling into endless loops or playing with high frequency sounds ('Sleep', 'Cesura', 'Konstellation'). Silence is the other very important element of Cesura; balanced with drones and white noise ('Vision', 'Spectrum', 'Consonance', 'Ripple') is treated as an active part of the sound Hara makes, as the basic color of the empty canvas which is slowly signed by thin color lines. Hara collaboration with the vocalist Natsuko Yanagimoto, the other half of the experimental-pop duo Rimacona, echoing in 'modena', the final track where the over-processed voice is surrounded by flickering sounds recalling a very intimate and emotional atmosphere. Marihiko Hara designed minimal sound sculptures with poetry and soul, weighting pauses, giving breath to silences and drawing melodies without emphasis. Cesura is that poetry.
"tried to warn you" is some chip pop from pittsburgh by jonbro, a new artist to the hog-headed hexawe label. there is so much disgusting pop, it's nice to hear a tune that will tickle you with catchy harmonic vocals but also lets you keep your lunch in your stomach. as always both the rendered mp3 track and the source file zip are yours to nab!

This remix project is based on Skies Unlimited's song for this video. Started in 2005 it was frozen until nowadays release. Many of Phonocake´s friends are concerned on this release. Besides this we are very happy about a guest-remix from Analogue Audio Association, one of the best-known Dresden's Electronic local heros.
