Jan Oberländer was first active in music as dj at several partys. In 2000 he formed with Robert Helms "STARK". The duo from Rostock is well known beyond the city boundary for their progressive, techhouse liveatcs. They did several live-gigs at "Stubnitz-club" in Rostock. They won the "f6-Newcomer-Award".
In 2004 the "STARK" was relounched as "TRACKER". The project still consisting of Jan Oberlaender (the man for the beats) and Robert Helms (keyboarder) did several live gigs at big events f.e. at the Fusion Festival 2005, Treibstoff Rec. (event in cologne) and countless shows in and around Rostock. Their sound is a tightrope walk along house and tekkno with elements taken from pop, dub and soul. TRACKER makes you shake a leg!

Some guest artist works appear this time on Kahvi Collective. Vostek was found lurking in a corner of myspace - three tracks of the kind-of-curious (air dynamics) to the sheer genius (flight of the flicker). The tracks have all the twists and turns to keep the listener involved but the extra polish and sparkle make the tracks shine. An excellent taster from Vostek, lets hope we hear more in the future.
Number fourteen at Serein marks the most welcome return of Muhr, the man responsible for the first release in the Serein catalog many moons ago. Whilst Muhr has contributed many tracks to other labels in the interim, we're honoured to present his latest offering, which may be his most confident effort yet. Poussiere (meaning 'dust') is very much a development of a sound Muhr has been exploring for some time, the undercurrents of previous offerings are present (notably 'we are desolved' and 'la chute du romantisme en ballades' released at Miasmah), but to my mind Poussiere reaches beyond these - the music is raw, unshackled and full of angst that grips you from the off. By no means an easy listen, Poussiere is an album that toys with your emotions, one moment lifting you above the clouds with beautiful string arrangements and toy melodies, the next dragging you down into a suffocating world of thrash guitar and dense drones. This is a beast that will take several listens to tame, and you owe it to yourself to do so.

sickmoth is a UK-based producer of eclectic electronica, mixing up styles and genres, using live instruments and wrapping it all up in an electronica blanket. This, his second album, is not so much 'anything goes' as the debut, but retains the signature sound in a more coherent collection of songs that take in ambient, IDM, breaks and liberal lashings of distorted guitar to take the listener on a journey. From the brash opening madness of 'Monster' to the epic rocktronica of 'The wrong', this is sickmoth's finest work to date. The album is rounded off by a stomping remix of 'Buff my pylon' by one of sickmoth's FSOR stablemates, Signal:Noise.
