After spending some time in the darker end of sound lately on this label, we take a different turn and present some moody and melodic IDM style tracks we have been enjoying lately.
Impset (Christophe Cabanié) has been excited by the sounds of electronic music for more than a decade, and has recently begun producing his own tracks. Impset is but one of his many production projects, and the music is warm, dubby, textural ambient,which at times carries a disquieting feel but remains fascinating and invites further listening.
We were certainly taken enough by his tracks to invite him to release some of his music on Jon7.net microlabel, and after repeated listening, the decision was made to mix the tracks together and to release the mix. After several months of delay, "Tinram LR" was born, and we invite you to take a ride with Impset through his music. Fans of the Orb and Future Sound of London will enjoy the sounds, which hearken back to the 90's sound of electronica.

Leibniz brings you 5th release, this time from Kontext (Stanislav Sevostyanikhin). Double standards EP comes with the typical Kontext sound when dubby elements meet minimal electronica, spiced with atmospheric and glitchy sounds. So he knows a thing or two about originality and details, that is for sure.
After one year of silence Takeshi Nakamura, one of our top contributors, returns with a brand new album, again taking us to the fringes of electronic music. "Miscellaneous Goods" is a ten track album where Nakamura draws on new inspiration, binding abstract elements to form compositions that cross the thin line standing between sound and noise. Each track from this album has a cerebral birthplace, emerging as abstract figures which Takeshi has tried to fix into such titles as, Gap, Collapse, Degeneration, Dining Table, Array. The sound must be contemplated and explored, like standing in front of a carved monolith of vibrations. Contemplation is the keyword for approaching Takeshi's music, like having a passive aural experience but standing in the fields of the audible, of music. Just like the great sound artists, such as Ryoji Ikeda or Autechre are still doing, Takeshi Nakamura succeeds translating personal feelings into pure digital data. However, the feelings translated in this album are at times troublesome and oppressive. Here you won't find lovely melodies, solar soundscapes, nor easy beats. Nakamura's inspiration stands somewhere else and that's why Miscellaneous Goods is tough, complex, and needs time in order to be fully understood.
