«More than two long years ago, back in february of 2005, Mikel Martínez - an unsuspicious and anonymous spanish musician - sent to test tube his demo, which a month later became the fantastic EP 'Spring is Coming Soon' signed as Aitänna77. A delicate construction of electronic folk micro-epics which no one thought possible coming from the lands of Iberia, was thus presented to the Netlabel community.
After some well succeeded releases, including a couple of self-made ones, we kindly welcome Aitänna77 to his birthplace home, with the amazing concept album 'Health Needs'. Imagine yourself being transported to an hospital after suffering an accident, and shortly after, being processed through the various medical departments struggling for your life, remembering what you're in risk of losing, while at the same time accepting your destiny and embracing your death as passageway to another existence. All this and more in this emotional captivating, sad and joyful, bright and dark journey through the last thirty-nine minutes of everyone's life... someday.
I can only thank Mikel for sharing with us his unquestionable storytelling talent.» - Pedro Leitão
Celebrating our first US-based artist, we would like to introduce 'The Stringed Theory', a project by Dustin Frelich from Vista, California.
The string theory's main predication is that everything we see, from the smallest particles modern physics can perceive up to the greatest objects in our universe, is made up of tiny vibrating and oscillating strings.
With these strings, the universe is supposed to be a great cosmic symphony based upon unbelievable mathematical beauty.
Unfortunately, these strings are so small, that most likely no experiment is ever going to prove the theory's predictions. Though, assuming that string theory is a candiate for the theory of everything, it would sound like this.
A triumphant Monotonik debut from glitched-up UK resident BitBasic, whose 'Grating Rainbows' EP speeds through 8 tracks in just 18 minutes, and offers a whirlwhind tour to some deliciously cut-up drill & bass action, someone between early Squarepusher, our very own Beak, and somewhere entirely new. Hawesome.
Fun was formed in 2002 by Shay Yehezkelli (coma) and Hovav Oppenheim as a free spirited side project that got out of control with the independent release of their E.P Measured By The Inch. The E.P was quickly reissued by Fact Records and made it into a bullet-proof radio playlist. Soon the duo became a band with the help of Ariel Caine (Neokoln), Ariel Kleiner (The Rubberband Project), Yonatan Naim and Avishay Londner (Lebanon). At the same year they released the "Thurston Moore" single that became their biggest hit and features a remix to The Black Dude From Faithless (Muhamad Ali) and a Stooges No Fun cover as bonus tracks. Sadly, these two releases are the shortlived band's full discography.
